Mango's Ease of Use overcomes language barriers - Acoeman - Spain

Acoeman operates predominantly in Albacete Spain, where we realize solutions for irrigation, industry solutions, tertiary and residential, transportation and distribution of electricity for farmers, small industries, construction and distribution companies of electricity.

As it was our aim to have a platform for control, monitoring and data analysis in the cloud, providing solutions that other companies do not give there clients. And although other companies provide similar solutions, they do not offer integration and customization of the whole of the client installation.

We found that IAS offers a home installation for customers which could fully automate, integrated, including the possibility of monitoring from anywhere via the Internet.  Including a surprising powerful amount of analytical data. We decided to go along and try out Mango.

Our first experience with IAS was in our own facilities, our corporate headquarters, for the control of our building, we found that an industrial SCADA was too small for data analysis and remote connectivity. When we began to see the results of Mango it was really surprising how quickly it acts and the possibilities it offers. We have currently installed Mango into different types of installations and are extremely happy with the stability it offers, even though we had to gain knowledge on how to become more skilled at using it since we are not computer specialists.

We are also developing M2M applications with different irrigation control systems (pivot, drip) for which we have Mango.

The first time I used Mango far exceeded my expectations, stability, reliability and good technical support. My English is very bad, a new software, with programming that I cannot read ... We have taken, so much from Mango’s performance with our few resources and that means it is a very simple and very powerful application.

Explanation of the Video

This video shows a SCADA on the control and supervision of irrigation on a farm in Albacete with 3 pivots, one of the pivots with GPS guiding, and 59 sectors. At home shows the installation of a well that supplies the 59 sectors and two pivots where pressures, drive speed and delayed start of the water pump are indicated. At the bottom, which appears on all the screens of SCADA, it shows the power, the billing period, the date and time that we read instantly counter that the electrical company uses with our product called Segurener.

On the next screen it shows the status of the valves for each irrigation sector and where we can put the valve in manual or automatic.

At pivot I show the control and monitoring of two of the pivots with their schedules programs.

At general schedules programs the general settings time program that enables programs schedules pivot and 59 sectors.

In the charts we compare the various measurements we obtained from the installed sensors.

In the irrigation program we configure irrigation programs you want to use for the different sectors, being able to choose start time, end time, run time, the chosen valves.

The flashing button indicates if there are any alarms and pressing it will show active alarms, plus Mango will email if there are any alarm warnings. To access the GPS guided pivot C.N.Acequion_Pv4 presses the button.

There we find another flashing button that displays alarms.

At home we can control the pivot manually and view the current status of the pivot and sensors.

Programs configure automatic operation, indicating the active sectors, address, mode, dose, delay, positions, cultivation.

In configurations indicate the parameters needed to control the pivot. And in the charts show the recorded data point of the operations we have done with the meta data points.

About the Mango Installation

How many and of what type Data Points do you have? Currently we have more than 10,000 data points, where data sources Modbus I / P and Meta Data Source are the most used.

What are the polling speeds? Data logging rates? Number of users? We currently do it more in line with the installation, for example if the local connection in this period is 5 seconds and if the PLC with which we want to communicate is in the field, what we do for every 15 minutes . Point value logging we do according to the type of data point:

  • Measurements intervals 15 minute instant states when point values change
  • Configurations do not log the values point are purged after 2 years

We have one user per client, currently about 6 and admin.

Describe the metadata point and scripting functions. The metadata points mainly used for calculating the difference of a measurement in an hour, for example { return p22131.value - p22131.ago(HOUR); } 59 59 * * * ?

Features we currently use: We are using Data Point, Alarms, Mango, Reports, Watch List, Event Handlers, Data Source, Users, Point Hierarchy, Systems Setting, Configuration Import / Export and SQL Console and we think using other features to get the most performance out of the software.

 

Which features have you found most useful for your specific process? What surprised us is that Mango has different types of data sources, different forms of data records and a variety of features for the control and supervision of the data points.

Mango images, chart and the great possibility to modify and create new tools adapted to our needs.

Are you using MangoES? Yes, we have installed 3 mangoES systems that we use to control the climate of a museum, a control Pivot of irrigation and control of vegetables and cereals industry.
